MTR Tuen Ma Line - Sung Wong Toi / To Kwa Wan - Farrells

Sung Wong Toi and To Kwa Wan stations designed by Farrells opened last week, June 27th. As a new-built station for the MTR Corporation it is part of the new line connecting 2 existing lines (West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line) to form 1 extra-long line, the Tuen Ma Line.

After Diamond Hill and Kai Tak (photographed in 2020 for Aedas), Hung Hom (photographed in 2021 for Aedas), I am now adding Sung Wong Toi and To Kwa Wan (photographed for Farrells) to my portfolio of Infrastructure Photography. With this, I have photographed the 5 stations that form the connection between the 2 existing lines. Looking forward to continuing photographing MTR stations when the Shatin-Central link comes into full operation.

Atrium House - via.

via. has completed Atrium House, a new development located in Yuen Long, Hong Kong. Atrium House was developed by New World Development.

The main eye-catcher of this development is undoubtedly the clubhouse. Featuring several different volumes placed in a way to create small alleyways that reminisce to the old Chinese hutongs.

Selected as one of the most Inspiring Architecture Photography

LOOP has selected Kris Provoost as one of the most inspiring photographers specialising in Architecture.

A photo taken at K11’s Art and Cultural Centre has been included in the virtual exhibition.

After a career as an architect for a decade, Kris refocused his career and specialised in Architectural Photography. Since establishing himself as a photographer in 2019, he has worked with a wide range of architects, interior designer, developers and engineers to photograph their projects. Over the years he has published different personal projects, most notably Beautified China, that has been widely shared globally in Vogue, Architectural Digest, CNN and others. The best of Beautified China has been included in a book publication ‘Beautified China, The Architectural Revolution’

Centricity Flex - Hongkong Land

Hongkong Land has introduced its new concept ‘Centricity Flex’ in Edinburgh Tower, Central.

This new concept is new space for Hongkong Land’s tenants. Its features flexible workspace, as well as several meeting rooms and an outlet of Catch & Go, a restaurant/bar.

Multiple awards for AaaM architects' Rediscovering Landscape

It is always great to see clients win awards for their designs. AaaM won both the DNA Award in Paris and the Singapore Good Design Award for their art installation ‘Rediscovering Landscape.

At the start of the year, I had the opportunity to photograph the installation for AaaM and it is especially great to see these photos on the award websites.

Time Loop - Paul Cocksedge Studio / Sino Group

Time Loop, a new art piece, has been unveiled. This stunning artwork was designed by Paul Cocksedge Studio for Sino Group. Time Loop is located at Yue Man Square, the new mall in Kwun Tong that is forms the base of Sino’s Grand Central complex.

Designed as an endless loop, Time Loop is perfect gathering space and allows people to interact with the artwork. Visitors can sit, lay down, chat, or chill on the dynamic wooden curves.

Time Loop is a gift from Sino Group to Hong Kong to celebrate its 50th birthday.

T Galleria by DFS Canton Road - Woods Bagot

Woods Bagot has completed the redesign of the existing T Galleria by DFS branch located on the famous Canton Road in Hong Kong.

By injecting bold colours, key points are introduced for visitors to have certain waypoints. Red escalators, bright banners, muted colours, … a variety of elements to play with in this fascinating photoshoot carried out for Woods Bagot.

City Air Purification System - Sino Group

Sino Group in collaboration with ARUP have completed a City Air Purification System (CAPS) prototype in Hong Kong’s Tamar Park. This innovative design purifies polluted air through an ingenious system and provides clean air. Doubling as a bus shelter, this prototype hopefully can become a mainstay in some of the most polluted cities around the world and help with the air pollution.

‘The invisible shield’ was first shown in Tamar Park with Hong Kong’s iconic skyline as its backdrop. In July it will move to its second location in Olympian City on Kowloon.

Pacific Place - Swire Properties

Earlier in the year I was commissioned to photograph Pacific Place in Hong Kong. This large-scale shopping centre (with several high-rise towers above) is located in the heart of Hong Kong Island and connects directly to Admiralty MTR Station.

This photoshoot was aimed at producing a set of images of Pacific Place for 2021. With over 180 shops over several floors, the images produced for this commission where highlighting the dynamic nature and unique design elements of this upscale mall. Renovated by Heatherwick Studio in 2010, Pacific Place is a truly unique place. With long curvy lines, warm wooden elements, stepping inside the mall immediately gives you a luxury feel.

Yahoo! Verizon Media - anySCALE

Beijing based design studio anySCALE has completed the new headquarters for Yahoo! and Verizon Media. Located in the bustling Quarry Bay Area of Hong Kong, this new workspace takes over 2 floors in Taikoo Place. The layout consists of different zones for different working styles. An open plan of desks is broken down with a variety of colourful informal meeting spaces. At the heart of the space is a chill zone where the staff can take a break.

Overall the space consists of different moods with different brightness, different color schemes and different sense of privacy.
